Best Turmeric Recipes

Recently I read it online that turmeric is a super food that does wonders to our health. The yellow color root belongs to the ginger family and is anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, has wound healing and other medicinal benefits.

It’s one of my favorite spices; it imparts an exotic taste, wonderful fragrance and aromas to protein such as chicken.

This honey turmeric chicken is a great recipe to introduce you to turmeric. The chicken is moist, juicy, delicious, golden in color, with an intense aroma and absolutely mouthwatering.

We had this tonight, using chicken breasts. Cooked it on the grill and served with steamed broccoli and baked sweet potatoes. So pretty, too; wish I could post a photo. Thank you for a healthy alternative!

    Bee,
With some of your recipes, you specifically mention the Instant Pot, while others you recommend the skillet. I would like to make the Honey Turmeric Chicken in the Instant Pot, and while you might not have made it in the Instant Pot, do the recommendations differ at?

    1. Rasa Malaysia says:

Yes you can make this recipe in an Instant Pot.

Rarely does a recipe move from first try to permanent rotation in our family – but this one did it. We have made it using thighs, chicken breasts, in the fry pan and on the bbq. Served with jasmine rice and a side salad it is both healthy and delicious. Always a winner with guests as well. Thanks for the introduction! You can bet I will be looking at your other recipes as well!

  7. Gina says:

Hello this sounds and looks great. I don’t have a cast iron skillet. Also, do the chicken thighs have to be boneless? I never seen boneless thigh; only skinless AND boneless, but we want the skin, right? Thanks for your help!

    1. Rasa Malaysia says:

Just follow the instructions. Buy chicken thighs with bones and then debone.

I made the Honey Turmeric Chicken last night and it was so good! It smelled so good while cooking that my whole family came to the kitchen to see what was! lol I used boneless skinless chicken breast cut into chunks. I doubled the recipe to feed everyone and I added about 2 tablespoons of fresh minced Ginger. I baked it in the oven with a little bit of coconut oil on the pan, until done. Then transferred it to my cast iron skillet with all the juices and browned it a little for maybe 5 minutes. Served it over steamed rice cooked in my rice pot with a little turmeric on it and steamed veggies. We will definitely be making this recipe again!

I have been eating more heart healthy type of meals since a heart attack. Turmeric has become a major part of recipes I use. I made this exact recipe a couple months ago after I was looking for new ideas – it was great. Tonight I was looking again for a similar meal, so I modified your original recipe. I diced chicken breast into 3/4″ cubes and cooked in skillet with a little coconut oil until browned. I made the rest of the recipe as instructed, minus the soy or oyster sauce. I made extra honey & turmeric with some cornstarch and 1 cup of water for a sauce. Dished the meat onto a bed of angel hair pasta, with some of the sauce over the top. It made for an excellent change that tasted fantastic. I used to be kind of nervous about cooking with turmeric, but have learned that it is as easy as any other spice. Thank you for the original recipe and inspiration to experiment.

Delicious! Second time making this, but this time I added about a tablespoon of mince ginger. Seared both sides of the chicken then finished in the oven. Turned out even better than the original recipe. I even saved some of the sauce mix for basting during the cooking process! 10/10!
