How To Make Coca-Cola Chicken Wings
In this recipe, chicken wings are first baked until lightly brown and just cooked.
Meanwhile, a special sauce is crafted by simmering together Coca-Cola, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and lime juice. Once the sauce has reduced by half, add a cornstarch slurry to thicken the mixture. This sauce undergoes a process of caramelization, resulting in a glossy and rich glaze.
The last step is to coat the chicken wings in the sweet and savory Coca-Cola sauce, and return them to the oven for the final touch to get the beautiful dark golden brown and crispy exterior.
Garnish with green scallion, and enjoy with flavorful Coca-Cola sauce.
Cooking Tips
For the best taste, please follow my tips below:
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels before baking or frying. This helps to achieve crispy skin.
- Prick the back of the chicken wings with a sharp knife, which helps the flavors penetrate better.
- The final bake after coating the wings with the sauce should be brief. This step caramelizes the sauce and gives the wings a glossy finish. Be careful not to overbake, which will lead to a sticky texture.

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Prick the back of the chicken wings with a sharp knife and pat them dry with paper towels. Arrange the wings on a baking pan lined with parchment paper and sprinkle evenly with salt. Bake for 25 minutes, or until lightly browned and cooked through.

Yes, you can substitute with Coke Zero.
What are the cooking requirements if using an air fryer? Also, is 200 the correct oven temperature? Seems extremely low.
It’s 200 Celcius/400 Fahrenheit. If using the air fryer, you will need to reduce the cooking time and also temperature. Please set it for 18-20 mins at 180C/375F, and check to make sure it’s cooked through.
