Focaccia Bread
What is Focaccia?
Focaccia is a classic Italian flatbread renowned for its soft, fluffy texture and rich flavor, thanks to generous amounts of olive oil used both in the dough and on top.
Originating from Genoa, Italy, it has gained global popularity as one of the quintessential Italian breads.
This versatile bread can be enjoyed at any hour: accompany it with your morning coffee for a comforting breakfast, serve it alongside a meal for a delightful complement to dishes, or indulge in it as a satisfying snack or appetizer throughout the day.
Its simplicity and ability to be customized with various toppings like herbs, tomatoes, olives, or even cheese make it a beloved choice across cultures and culinary preferences. Focaccia’s appeal lies not only in its delicious taste but also in its ability to evoke a sense of homemade comfort and culinary tradition wherever it is enjoyed.

It’s best to make two loaves.
Measurements are way off with liquids. I would ask the author to double check them and edit as several users report the same issue.
I needed to add 1/2 cup more to get to anything that resembled a sticky dough
This recipe is tried and tested with no problem. Did you use the right American measuring cup?
Found this on Pinterest and made it yesterday. SCORE! So easy and turned out great. Will be making again for sure.

First time making n trying
Awesome thanks for trying my recipe and thanks for the 5 stars rating.
Mine smelled amazing but the taste was very bland and it didn’t seem as airy as some focaccia. Any advice? We are not in a high altitude.
Hi, thank you for your comment. If your bread is not rising, it could be that the yeast has expired. Also, feel free to add more toppings to your focaccia to make it more flavourful. Some extra sprinkling of seasalt should add more dimension.
I do the first rise in the mixing bowl for an hour, then do a second rise for about 20 minutes in the cooking dish and it makes it much more airy. For the flavor, make sure theres enough salt, and I also always use plentyyyy of chopped garlic.
Yummy!
I add spices and herbs to the flour mixture prior to adding wet ingredients.
Dough is too thick to use an electric mixer. I mix by hand and it works great!
Dough is too low moisture, either needs more water or less flour
Yes I added more water as the dough was not sticky. About 1/4 cup
Do I need to add 1/4 water to the recipe or is it updated?
I add a total of 1 3/4 cups of water. Or you can reduce the flour to 3 cups. That makes for a slightly smaller bread, so I just add the extra water.
Thanks for your 5 stars ratings. :)
